Does anyone know anything about home alarm systems? maybe someone who has worked in the biz?

My question is about Home ALARM Systems? (please see below)?

I moved into a house with a ADT installed Safewatch Plus alarm that has all windows and doors monitored. The previous owners did not give us a code or any instructions, so we never use it. It has power and shows red and green lights as things open and close; so it is functioning. I DO NOT want to pay for a company to monitor it, but I would like to arm and disarm it at night while my family is sleeping. PLEASE, …Does anyone know how I can reset it or get it working again without hiring a monitor Co. because they want to reinstall a new system and have monthly fees?

Where should I advertise home alarm systems?

I work for ADT Security Services.
My job is to go out and knock on peoples doors and find those who are interested in a free alarm system for their home, with installation include. There is a $99 activation fee and they have to pay monitoring fees of about $30-$50 per month.

How can I find local people that are searching for something like this without having to knock on doors. I really want to generate sales without having to knock on doors.

More like people calling me interested to join instead.
Please help.

Thank you in advance.

Changing Seasons Signifies The Time To Revamp Home Security

<!– @page { margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } –>

As the spring starts to slowly transition to summer, the season of home repairs and chores begins. You put off cleaning the gutters and replacing that cracked second-story window all winter; now with the warmer weather you have no more excuses. And in this category of resident repairs is reanalyzing your home security situation, to see if any things need to be replaced, reinforced or revamped.

While doing those household tasks, a good idea is to take notice of your home’s perimeter, paying particular attention to points of entry, to see if any possible damage has occurred during the winter months. Statistically speaking, first floor windows and front doors are the most common access points for thieves attempting to break-in, and cold temperatures, rapid snowmelt and overall weathering can do a number to their frames and locks. Making sure that each door and window shuts and locks securely is key. If problems exist, it may be a good idea to head to the hardware store.

Besides the primary points of entry, take a look at the cellar door – if one exists – as well as the your hiding place for that spare key. Cellar doors traditionally have weak padlocks keeping strangers out. Unfortunately, many people fail to realize that the basement level of a house is a huge threat to home security; especially since home alarm systems do not monitor them. Therefore, making sure that the entry door from the outside is strong and sturdy is crucial. Additionally, if you have followed the advice of most security experts and hid your key near an outside air conditioning unit or under an outside panel of the home, making sure that the spot is still hidden from common view is a good idea.

Removing plants and overgrown brush is not just a seasonal task of a homeowner; it is also a key way to enhance that home security system. Although most plants have just started growing in the spring, taking note of where overgrowth could occur, blocking views between the house and the street, is a very good strategy. If you can get rid of these issues before they become actual problems, you will thank yourself in the end.

Finally, the last task that should be included in those home repairs is testing that home alarm system. It may have lasted the entire winter, but making sure that no circuits have fried and that everything operates smoothly is essential. Besides, if a fire, carbon monoxide leak or actual break-in were to occur, that alarm would be one of the few things included in a home’s defenses. At the same time, check to make sure that the alarm company’s sign did not blow over or disappear during those snowy months. It may sound stupid, but that small little sign with the company’s logo in the front of the yard does more than just advertise the corporation’s logo, it proclaims to every thief thinking about trying to break-in that your home is fully equipped to take on any potential threat.

With the seasons changing, make sure that your home <a rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview(‘/outgoing/article_exit_link’);” href=”http://www.securitychoice.com/”>alarm system</a> is fully functional and operational. Let <a rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview(‘/outgoing/article_exit_link’);” href=”http://www.securitychoice.com/adt-wireless-home-security-system.html”>adt</a> transition your home from spring to summer, worry free from possible break-ins.

5 Inconveniences Your Michigan Home Alarm System Can Address

<!– @page { margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } –>

Not all home alarm system packages are created equal. Some are only about providing protection against criminals, while others go the extra mile. When the security of your home and family is at stake, having these extra features will make your alarm system even more appealing. The following are things you won’t have to worry about with a quality alarm system in Michigan.

1. The sensors that will be placed all around your home will be quite sensitive, and that’s how you want them to be. You don’t want a criminal coming in under the radar so to speak. At the same time, you don’t want your pets to create false alarms neither. Thankfully, your home alarm system company can calibrate and configure the sensors to account for your furry and not so furry friends.

2. Many households these days have done away with land line phone service in favor of cell phone service. Alarms have historically depended on phone line service to communicate with the alarm company, but that’s no longer a requirement. Alarm companies are in tune with the times and offer an option that will allow your system to communicate with them via cellular technology. If your phone line is gone, it can stay gone with a good home alarm system.

3. Whenever you enter your home and your alarm is activated, you will have around 30 seconds to deactivate it before it starts to ring loudly and your alarm company is notified. Usually, you’ll do that by entering your pass code into one of the keypad consoles located throughout your home. You’ve got a lot of passwords to remember thanks to email, online banking, and various other websites. Your alarm doesn’t have to add to that collection thanks to the fact that you can use a remote to deactivate your alarm. All you’ll have to do is press a button.

4. Crime tends to increase during long power outages due to the fact that home alarm systems need power or they’ll be rendered useless. Fortunately, you can sign up for a system that utilizes a battery backup that can last up to a day or longer. This could prove to be a life-saver if a natural disaster should occur near your home in Michigan and it loses power.

5. An alarm isn’t just helpful because it keeps criminals out. It can be used in a medical emergency as well. If you were to suddenly have a heart attack or stroke for example, there may not be a phone nearby and it could be hard to walk to one. Seconds are crucial during such an event and you need to get help fast. If you’re not close to a phone or you are not in a good condition to dial the proper authorities, you can always try pressing one of the panic buttons located on the keypad consoles. Some systems even come with two-way communication capability, which could be helpful if you can’t get to the phone nor the keypad console. In that case, you could simply talk to your keypad console and communicate with a home alarm system representative, who can send help immediately.

An ADT Alarm in Michigan can safeguard your family without making your life more inconvenient. There really is no better better protection available than what security alarm systems can provide.
